Dorothy N. Guse of Juneau passed away Monday September 11, 2017 at the age of 95 years.  Dorothy was born on October 6, 1921 to Louis and Hattie (nee Stassburg) Nehls in Juneau. Dorothy was baptized and a lifetime member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau, WI.   She attended school at Juneau High School and graduated in 1939.  Dorothy grew up on the family farm and worked alongside her mother in the home helping prepare meals for the hired men.  She married Roger Guse and moved to Beaver Dam for a short period of time where she worked at a shoe factory. When Roger was killed during World War II she moved back to the family farm and went to work for her father in the office. Dorothy was a secretary for the family farm until her retirement in 2007. She was blessed to have had many friends. She traveled to numerous countries.  She loved learning about history of countries and their people. She enjoyed spending her free time at her cottage in Wautoma, on Cyrstal Lake.

Dorothy was a member of the Gold Star Wives, The Juneau American Legion, Salvation Army, Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, National Heart Association, and Diabetes Association.  She has been an ongoing supporter of the troops, US Olympic Committee, USO, and Paralyzed Veterans. She also volunteered at Bethesda for many years.
