Helen M. Kikkert

Helen M. Kikkert of Beaver Dam passed away September 16, 2016 at the age of 97 years.  She was born June 24, 1919 In Fox Lake, the daughter of Charles and Margaret (nee Zuelke) Sager.  She was a 1937 graduate of Fox Lake High School.  She married her husband Cornelius November 17, 1942 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Fox Lake.  She was a “Rosie the Riviter” who worked at the National Rivit Factory in Waupun.  When Cornelius returned home from WW2, they bought a farm on Highway G near Randolph Wisconsin.  In 1957 they moved to Juneau.  She worked at the Dodge County Hospital as a nurses’ aide.  Helen like to flower garden, and raise vegetables that she canned.  She loved to babysit her two grandchildren, cook, and bake.  She was a devout Christian who received The Word of the Lord every Sunday.  She was a faithful worker for St. John’s Ladies Aid, she belonged to Juneau’s Homemakers Club, Juneau Senior Citizens, and a 4H leader.  Helen was a true friend who would always help someone who needed help.  She always loved cats, and they provided companionship her adult life.  She was a long time member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau.

She is survived by her loving children, Margie Kikkert of Kansas City, MO and Carolyn (John E.) Leistico, of Beaver Dam, and her precious grandchildren Stephanie (Mark) Wolter of Hartford, John J. Leistico of Beaver Dam, and her dearest great grandchildren Brennan, Braden, Madelyn, and Peyton.  Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Helen is preceded in death by her husband, her sister Loraine and brother-in-law McCoy Heding. 

Visitation is Wednesday, September 21, from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church.  Funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at church.  Reverend Paul Schupmann will officiate.  Interment at Juneau City Cemetery.
