Mary Kathryn “Kate” Puls passed into the Kingdom of our Lord on Friday, January 20, 2017, at Eagle’s Wings in Beaver Dam surrounded by her loving family.  She was born January 6, 1918, in Juneau, Wisconsin the daughter of Eugene and Marcella (nee Manning) Becker. She graduated from Juneau High School in 1935 and began working in the family business at the Juneau Hotel.  She married Kenneth Puls at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Juneau on May 3, 1946, and began to raise her family.  She was a life- time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and later at St. John the Baptist Church in Clyman.  When her husband passed away in 1970, she went to work for the Dodge County Sheriff Dept. as the chief cook working for Sheriffs Nehls and Meekma. She was deputized to perform other duties until she retired in 1983.

In retirement, Kate enjoyed traveling with her sisters, crocheting, oil painting and watching Wisconsin sporting events of which she was an avid fan of.

Kate was a past member of Juneau American Legion Auxiliary, Christian Mothers, Good Samaritan Guild, Mission Sewing, and volunteered for the Dodge County Meal site. 

 

Kate is survived by her loving children, Sandra (Timothy) Meekma of Fox Lake, Barbara (Dr. Scott) Quandt of Green Bay and Kenneth Puls of Sheboygan Falls, and her precious grandchildren, Michelle Meekma-Yaun, Ryan Meekma, Gregory Quandt, Andrew Quandt , Sara (Colter) Harris and Andrew Puls and 6 loving great  grandchildren, dear sister Bernadine Budde of Beaver Dam, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.   Preceded in death by her husband Kenneth deceased 1970, brothers John Becker, & Eugene (Julienne) Becker, her sisters Margaret Richards, Eugenia Utrie.

 

Visitation is Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 9-11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyman.  Mass of Resurrection will follow at 11 a.m. at church.  Fr. Michael Erwin will officiate.  Internment Immaculate Conception Cemetery of Juneau.

Any memorials may be given to Hillside Hospice of Beaver Dam. 

Kate was a gentle, compassionate, generous woman.  Her family meant the world to her.  Her strong Catholic faith never faltered.  Although she will be missed, Kate is resting in peace with the Lord.
