We had so many pleasant conversations over the years with Norbert at the farmers' markets. He sold us hickory nuts, raspberries, pears, and so many wonderful heirloom variety apples (including "Grandma Gerbitz"). Everything was clearly a product of hard work but also of love. Once he told us he could smell and identify an apple even when the tree was gone. That's love.
