Vernon H. Ewert

Vernon H. Ewert of Slinger passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the age of 87.  He was born in the Township of Hubbard March 20, 1930 the son of Julius and Theresa (nee Mathwig) Ewert.  He grew up on the family farm in Dodge County.  On November 11, 1950, he married Beverly Schuett at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church in Hustisford.  He worked for Radloff Cheese in Hustisford for a few years, and then at Kraft Foods.  He had a number of jobs before his 23-year career at John Deere in Horicon where he retired.  He loved to listen to WTKM polka music, and enjoyed polka dancing with his wife Beverly.  Vernon also was a great Wisconsin sports fan.  He enjoyed watching baseball, professional wrestling, and the Packers.

He is survived by his children Sandra Williams of West Allis, Mary (John) Kerr of Hartford, Stan Ewert of Hartford, Linda Ewert of Slinger, Patricia Le Mon of California.  He is also survived by his brother Roy and his sister Betty Kraemer, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his wife Beverly in 1989, his sister Phyllis Feller, his brother Merlin, and his grandson James Guenther. 

Visitation is Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Hustisford.  Funeral Service to follow at Noon at church.  Rev. Gaylord Nelson will officiate.  Internment Hustisford Cemetery.  Memorials to St. Michael’s Building Fund would be appreciated.
