Kathleen J. Hoppe of Hartford, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at the age of 80 years. She was born May 29, 1943 in Brookfield, WI, the daughter of Cutler and Vivian (nee White) Savage. Kathleen attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee with a degree in Social Work. She married Guy Hoppe, June 26, 1966. She was employed as a Social Worker, most recently at Aurora Medical Center in Harford where she spent 27 years. Previous employment included social work positions at Cedar Community, West Bend Hospital, and Mount Carmel Nursing Home.
Kathleen was very active in her church for her entire life, most recently at Still Waters Community United Methodist Church of Jackson, WI. Previously, she was an active long-term member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Hartford where she sang in the choir and held various leadership positions. Kathleen enjoyed cooking, gardening, and was an avid reader. She was known for her love of people and for helping them in any way she could.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, her children Christopher (Ru Genger) Hoppe of Madison and Jay Hoppe at of Menomonee Falls. Grandchildren include Benjamin and Melissa Hoppe. She is the dearest sister of Howard Savage of Madison, James Savage of St. Louis and William Savage of Draper, Utah. Kathleen is also, survived by other relatives and friends.
The family extends a special thank-you to Serenity Villa and Cedar Community for their compassionate and loving care, and also to Aurora Health Care during Kathleen’s final days. In addition, the family extends its thanks to Pastor Lori Lossie and the members of Still Waters Church for their ongoing and special support during Kathleen’s final days.
Memorial Service is Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Still Water Community Methodist Church, 3617 Scenic Road, Jackson, Wisconsin 53037. The family will receive relatives and friends, Wednesday, April 3, from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service.
