Willard C. Brendemuehl

December 11, 1918 - January 31, 2010

Willard Carl Brendemuehl was taken to his eternal home Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Wellington Place in Hartford at the age of 91 years. He was born on December 11, 1918, in the town of Hustisford, the son of Alex and Ella (nee Leitzke) Brendemuehl. Willard married Lenora (nee Duehring) on November 11, 1939 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lebanon.

Willard farmed all his life in the Hustisford area, until he retired in 1973. He served his church in many offices, choir and did custodial work for 18 years. Willard also was on many boards: Hustisford State Bank Director, Lebanon Clyman Mutual Insurance Director, Rock River Coop, Hustisford Township and president of Aid Association for Lutherans. He volunteered many years at the Bethesda Country Fair. Willard enjoyed playing cards, travel, bowling and fishing. He was an honorary member of the Hustisford Volunteer Fire Department.

Left to mourn are his son Dennis (Judy) of Horicon, and daughter Bonnie (Donald) Wolter of Neosho, his grandchildren Chad (Monica) of Poplar Grove, IL, Darla of Mankato, MN, Noah of Brooklyn, NY, Lamar of Fridley, MN, Kyle of Coon Rapids, MN, Shea of Horicon, Rob (Kristin) Wolter of Watertown, Robin (Scott) Newton of Sun Prairie, Shawn (Marcie) Wolter of Watertown, Denise (Rev. Marty) Mielke of Sarasota, FL, his 13 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mildred Fredrick of Watertown, and a brother-in-law, Russell Nehls. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many good friends.

Willard is preceded in death by his wife Lenora in 2004, a daughter Pearl and three sisters Eldora Kuehl, Gladys Strook and Lorraine Nehls.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 4, 2010 from 1-3 PM at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church. Funeral Service will follow at 3 PM at the Church. Rev. Timothy Bauer will officiate. Interment Hustisford Cemetery. Memorials to Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church or the charity of one’s choice in memory of Willard would be appreciated.
