Biography

Adeline Groehler, born June 30, 1918 in the town of Ashippun, to Erich and Alvina (nee Ottow) Groehler, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2010 at the age of 91 years.

She was in an automobile accident when she was 20, which left her paralyzed and wheel chair bound for the rest of her life. Adeline led a fruitful life, babysitting for her nieces, nephews and friends, keeping house for her father after her mother died, and taking in ironing for other people. Despite her handicap, she kept a neat and tidy house, and always kept herself presentable. Illnesses took their toll of her the past year or so, but she remained in good spirits. She had a smile for everyone.

Adeline is survived by her twin sister Edna Henkel, sister LaVerne (Jim) Gresch, several nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Hilbert and Elmer Groehler, sister-in-law Dolores “Lovie” Groehler.

Visitation Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 9:30 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lebanon. Funeral Service to follow at 11 AM at the church. Rev. Reinhold Markwart will officiate. Interment Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
