WHITE, MICHAEL G., MD of Slinger, surrounded by his loving family, was Born to Eternal Life on the night of Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the age of 60 years.  He is survived by his loving wife Debra (nee Guggemos), his eight children Joseph (Katharine), Stephen (Christine), Rebecca (Joseph) Bird, Anne (Philip) Danaher, Peter (Grace), Margaret, Mary Rose, and Kathleen, and by 15 grandchildren, with three more on the way. Also survived by nine siblings, Joseph (Susan), William (Cathleen), Mary Catherine (Kevin) Thornton, Anne, Mary Regina Stirton, Mary (Greg) Dooley, Clare (Tim) Daly, Maureen (John) Smillie, Elizabeth (Thomas) Dillon. Michael was uncle to dozens of nieces and nephews, and great-uncle to scores more. 

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gregory and Mary (nee Kerwin) White, his sister, Margaret, father-in-law, Don C. Guggemos, Sr., and brother-in-law James L. Stirton. 

 

Visitation is Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, 226 S. Main Street, Hartford, from 3-8 p.m.   Rosary recitation at 8 p.m.  Visitation Friday, March 31, 2017 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Basilica of Holy Hill, Hubertus.  Mass of Resurrection will follow at 2:30 p.m.  The Most Reverend Jerome E. Listecki, and Bishop Donald Hying and the community of Carmelite priests will officiate.  Private interment St. Augustine Cemetery. 

 

A native of the Chicago area, Dr. White attended Fenwick High School, studied English at St. John’s University, and received his MD from Loyola Chicago. He moved to Wisconsin after residency and entered private practice in family medicine in Germantown in 1988. Dr. White was on the staff at Community Memorial Hospital in Menominee Falls, where he served as a board member and as medical staff president. He was a past president of the Milwaukee Guild of the Catholic Medical Association. He served as advisor to Archbishop Listecki on the Archdiocesan Healthcare and Bioethics Committee. In 2014, he received the Vatican II Award for Service to Families from the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.

 

He had great love for his family, his patients, the English language, the World Champion Chicago Cubs, and good music. His Catholic faith gave him an abiding sense of wonder and gratitude to God, the ultimate source of his profound and contagious joy.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Prolife Wisconsin or the Holy Hill Beautification Fund would be appreciated.
