Jerome Haase Obituary

Jerome Anthony Haase passed onto Eternal Life on February 12, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.  Jerome was born on January 20, 1929 son of Walter and Marie Haase in the Town of Lowell and is survived by his devoted wife of 69 1/2 years Dorothy, his children Betty (Roger) Statz, Reeseville,  Catherine (Dennis) Ruegg, Hustisford, Steven (Marcia) Beaver Dam, John (Sherry) Juneau, Thomas (Cynthia) Zephyr Hills, FL, Roseann (Randy) Rossing), Highland, Anthony (Kelly) Verona, William (Debbie) Juneau, Ellen (Jeff) Schmidt, Oconomowoc and Edward (Margauerite) Watertown, his 38 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his siblings, Bernice, Howard, Richard (Lorna), Jane (Russ Selchert), sister in law, Helen Neis as well as many nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives. As a devoted husband, father and grandfather he will be greatly missed.

Jerome was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother in-law, Elmer and Florence Neis, siblings, Margaret, Ralph (Jackie), Mary (Cecil) Sanders, Robert (Marita), Janet, Merlin (Goldie) Neis, Leon Neis and a grandson, Peter Rossing.  Also preceded in death by nephew David Haase and nieces, Sandi Neis and Nancy Haase (Hoffman).

Jerome was married to Dorothy (Neis) at St. John’s the Baptist Church in Clyman on June 15, 1949 and where they were lifelong members.  Jerome was a faithful and devoted servant to our Lord and Savior.  His service included serving as a church trustee for 38 years and singing in the choir for 75 years, a 46 year member of the Knights of Columbus including serving as a 4th Degree Knight and as a Past Grand Knight.  Jerome served in the Marine Corps in 1951 and was also very involved in his community as a school board member, school bus driver, served on the Town of Clyman town board and was an active member of the Bee Keepers Association.  Jerome was an active farmer and also worked at Kant Lumber in Juneau, Zuern Lumber in Watertown, Justmann Farms in Clyman and Provimi Veal in Watertown.  Jerome enjoyed helping his sons with various building projects, talking with his grandchildren, sitting in the sun swinging in his outdoor swing and always having a jar of honey to send home with his many, many friends and family members.

Visitation will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyman, WI from 3 to 6 pm on Sunday, February 17, 2019 with a rosary dedication immediately following.  Friends and family may also visit on Monday from 9:30 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am followed by a graveside service with military honors.

In lieu of flowers memorials to St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church would be appreciated.
