Rita M. Hanrahan of Hartford was Born to Eternal Life Friday, July 6, 2018 at the age of 84 years. She was born January 29, 1934 in Hartford, WI, the daughter of Charles and Mariah (nee Burke) Lynch. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from UW-Oshkosh. After graduation, Rita began her career in a one-room school in Erin. She married Donald Hanrahan in 1964. She retired from the Slinger elementary school system after 27 years of teaching. Rita was a very good golfer and loved to play bridge. She was a wonderful mother who raised four children and was a loving wife for 54 years.
Rita is survived by her husband, Don, her children John (Carol) Hanrahan of Waterford, Timothy (Stacey) Hanrahan of Washington, Thomas (Margaret) Hanrahan of Lake Mills, and Daniel (Jo Ann) Hanrahan of Lake Mills, and by 8 grandchildren, Mariah, Ethan, Quinlan, Norah, Paul, Carolyn, Mikaela, and Morgan. Rita is preceded in death by her brothers and their wives, James (Margaret) Lynch and Edward ( Evelyn) Lynch and her sister Anna Marie Harris. Also surviving is a good family friend Brian and Beth Leair and family, nieces and nephews from the Hanrahan, Lynch, and Harris families.
Visitation is Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 2 – 4:45 p.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church, 264 W. State Street, Hartford, WI. Mass of Resurrection will follow at 5 p.m. Rev. David LaPlante is officiating. Private family interment at St. Kilian’s Cemetery. Memorials to St. Kilian Catholic Church are appreciated.
