ROGER M . WISER, born July 18, 1929, in Randolph, WI passed away on July 6, 2017 in Milwaukee.  He was preceded in death by his wife and soul mate of 62 years Gloria Marks Wiser on April 7, 2012. He also was predeceased by his parents Edwin and Madeleine Wiser and brother Francis R. Wiser.  Surviving are Roger’s two sisters Jannette Jeffords (Hartford, WI) and Annette Grossenbacher (Baraboo, WI) and his two daughters Cynthia McNichols (Milwaukee) and Sharon Wiser Swan (Iowa City, Iowa).  At the time of his death Roger had four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  

Roger’s parents moved to Hustisford, WI in his early life, where he attended Hustisford Public Schools.  After graduation from high school, Roger enlisted in the US Army, serving from 1947 to 1950. He was stationed at West Point Military Academy as medical technician, in Korea as a radio operator and finally in Hokkaido, Japan as radio operator instructor.

Following his discharge, he studied at Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) specializing in radio and television. Upon graduation he worked briefly as a TV-radio repairman, but then moved into the insurance business for the remainder of his career.  He worked for a variety of firms during his career:  Insurance Company of North America; Employers Insurance of Wausau; Admiral Insurance Company and Milwaukee Insurance.  While working he earned a BS degree in Marketing from the University of Minnesota and a MS degree in Management from Cardinal Stritch University.

Roger met Gloria who became the love of his life in early 1950, while he was a student at MSOE.  They married in November 1950 and had two daughters.   Gloria supported Roger throughout their marriage, managing the household in his career-related moves to Chicago, Wausau, Madison, Haddonfield, New Jersey and then Milwaukee again.  In their retirement years Roger and Gloria lived in Whitewater, WI where they also operated a small insurance claim company for eight years.  

In the 1970s Roger became an evangelical Christian and continued his faith and Biblical studies for the rest of his life. 

A small graveside funeral was held on July 8th at the Hustisford Cemetery, Hustisford, WI.
