‘Reds’ Hideaway was the “Cheers” of Wisconsin. It was a tavern where men are men and the women are scarce. People came to Red's for the Red man himself. He was a big guy with rusty colored hair and a personality that was larger than life! He was quick with a joke, jingle rhyme, or song that had everyone coming back for more.  No matter where he went he knew someone or someone knew him.  He had a huge heart and was very giving to his customers and friends who were his family. Red loved his family, he loved being the center of attention, the funny guy that made people laugh till it hurt. Music, dancing and singing karaoke or watching sports were the many things that he enjoyed. He was good at playing golf and bowling.

A big thank you to his son Brian for being Red's caregiver and keeping him comfortable at home.

We would like to share some of his famous sayings with you.  "As the Hideaway turns!", "The Bell sisters, Ding and Dong!" (His daughters Jane and Jennifer.)  "You're favorite son-in-law...I'm your only son-in-law",  "I scream we all scream for ice cream!"  Red's grandson Kyle remembers a permanently fixed quarter on the floor by the jukebox at the Hideaway, and watched people try to pick it up. His grandson Nathan remembers him taking him to the train show at the Domes in Milwaukee.
