David "Dave" Lesczynski Obituary

David Lesczynski passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025, surrounded by family and love. His presence filled our lives with strength, laughter and kindness.

72 years ago on November 4, David was born to Donald & Delores Lesczynski in Milwaukee. He was fortunate to have two lovely sisters, Sharon and Nancy. After graduating from Don Bosco High School, he proudly enlisted in the US Navy—a decision he said was the best he ever made. Following his honorable discharge, he pursued further education at UW-Whitewater.  He left Whitewater with his degree and the love of his life, Chris (Schuch). They wed October 1978. Their marriage is an example of what anyone could hope for: filled with love, laughter and a partner through the better or worse.

“Mister L”, as he was referred to by thousands of students over the years, was a much loved presence in many schools as principal and teacher in Southeastern Wisconsin - a job he loved and was so proud of.

Fast forward some years later, David and Chris welcomed two daughters, Rachel and Abby. Let us be the first to let you know…he was the BEST girl dad. The first to build us beds for Cabbage Patch Dolls, join in on games of Pretty Pretty Princess, and teach us how to excel in cribbage (but never quite as good as him).

Always one to don a matching set of whatever Wisconsin team would be playing that day, he had impeccable style, a perfectly manicured lawn and enough sweatshirts and hats to outfit a small country. He loved being outdoors: fishing, golfing, gardening, yard work and sunny beach days. David and Chris spent their well-deserved summers off, followed by retirement in Door County, a little get-away of their own. He made sure his love was always felt by lending a hand to anyone who might need it, whether you were a friend, neighbor, or someone he never met.

David is survived by his wife, Chris, daughters Rachel Lesczynski and Abby Bruce (Tom), father, Don Lesczynski, sisters Sharon McPike and Nancy Patin (Tim), many special nephews and nieces, and friends near and far.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Delores and extended family, Norman and Doris Schuch.

As a family, we would like to share in David’s gratitude and appreciation for the care and compassion he received during his fight.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MACC Fund.

A private celebration of life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
