Donald J Meyerpeter Sr. of Slinger WI, passed away on May 26, 2026, at the age of 88. He was born in Milwaukee on April 18, 1938. Son of Lillian (Matter) and Gilbert Meyerpeter. He was raised in Milwaukee and graduated from Rufus King High School. Don was a proud veteran and served three years in the U.S. Marine Corps. On August 4, 1962, he married Erma Chowhan. He worked for IBM for 29 years repairing typewriters, taking an early retirement. Don was an avid bowler and has multiple 300 games. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling around the US and Europe with friends and relatives. He served as an usher and enjoyed singing in the Choir at St. John’s Lutheran Church. He also enjoyed watching the Packer, Brewers, Professional Bowlers Association, NASCAR and attending races at Slinger Speedway.
Don is survived by his wife Erma (Chowhan) of 63 years, his son Donald Jr. (Paulette) Meyerpeter, his daughter Sherrie (Leonard Reimer) Meyerpeter, his grandchildren, Natalie (Brandon) Meeds, Andrew (Amber) Taylor, Melissa (Caleb) Vernon, Thomas (Kendra McCollum) Meyerpeter and Douglas Sharpley Jr., Seven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Lillian, sister Judith Miller, and brother Lee.
Visitation will be held at St John’s Lutheran Church ( 2881 Division Rd, Jackson, WI 53037) from 1:45pm-2:45pm. Memorial service will follow at 2:25pm. Interment will be at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery following service.
In lieu of flowers donations to St. John’s Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
