Gerald “Jerry” Stollenwerk

Gerald F. Stollenwerk passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, surrounded by family at the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. He was 92, and beloved by many.

Born on December 8, 1933, in Milwaukee, Jerry was the son of the late Anthony John and Thecla Francis (née Rohrbacher) Stollenwerk. He was a devoted husband to the late Patricia “Pat” (née Gedymin) for 59 years. Jerry is survived by his children, Keith (Angela), Scott, Carrie (Jim), and Noel, along with his son-in-law Patrick (Nancy) Scott and one sister-in-law, Katherine (nee Karedis) Gedymin. His oldest daughter, Lynnette Scott (Patrick), preceded him in death along with a brother, Robert Sr., sister-in-law, Mary Ann (nee Petrowski), brother-in-law, Walter Gedymin Jr., sister-in-law, Olga (nee DeMello), brother-in-law, Richard Gedymin and father and mother-in-law, Walter Sr. and Victoria (nee Chlebowski) Gedymin.

Affectionately known as “Papa,” Jerry is survived by nine grandchildren: Anita (Max), Doug (Jennifer), Chad, Michael (Jennifer), Andrew (Justine), Genevieve, Lauren (Steven), Olivia, and Lydia. He is also blessed with eight great-grandchildren, Tyler, Aiden, Graysen, Evelynn, Madison, Mason, Mia and Bennett, along with numerous relatives, friends and loved ones who were touched by his kind and thoughtful nature.

Jerry was a proud alumnus of Marquette University, graduating in 1956. He served with the US Army from 1956 to 1958, stationed in Fort Gordon, Georgia, where he was a signal instructor.

He embarked on his data processing career at Ladish Company in Cudahy from 1958 to 1969. Subsequently, he dedicated the remainder of his career to Regal Ware, Inc. in Kewaskum, where he retired as the Director of Data Processing in 1997. During his tenure at Regal Ware, he also played a pivotal role in organizing the Kewaskum Business Association, serving as a Board Member and company representative with the United Way.

Throughout his life, he exhibited a strong sense of service and actively participated in various community endeavors. Notably, he served as Kewaskum’s Village President for five years and as a Village Trustee and Planning Commission member. Jerry also had leadership roles in the Kiwanis Club of Kewaskum as well as numerous key positions with Holy Trinity Church and Parish Council, Home & School Association and he also represented Washington County as the Milwaukee Archdiocesan Council representative. He also served as the Vice-President and Board Member for the Hartford Square Condo Association. 

In his early years, Jerry and Pat cherished family vacations, often involving one of Jerry’s favorite pastimes: fishing. Later trips were spent either together or with dear friends, usually focused on the enticing slot machines or exploring exotic islands. During Jerry’s retirement, he found immense relaxation in fishing on Pike Lake or enjoying charter trips on Lake Michigan with his family. An avid sports fan and memorabilia collector, Jerry was particularly passionate about Marquette basketball, the Milwaukee Bucks, the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Green Bay Packers. He also relished gardening, baking cookies, making his beloved chocolate peanut butter balls and canning a wide variety of items, from vegetables to coffee liqueur, which he delighted in sharing with his family and friends. As life slowed down, Jerry enjoyed a favorite pastime of working on puzzles and was also an enthusiastic BINGO player.

Family held the utmost importance in Jerry’s life. He made sure to send special occasion cards or gift personal calendars to keep his family’s hearts warm and remind them of him, even when he was no longer able to visit. Jerry will be deeply missed.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to his care teams throughout the past decade. This includes his long-term physician, Dr. Deborah Haas, MD, his benevolent nurse, Abby Andris (ANP-BC), his personal caregiver, Rhonda Beine, the sensitive and gracious staffs at both Lakehouse Sheboygan and at Sheboygan Senior Community Center, and during his brief stay, the warmhearted staff at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice. Their compassionate care and kindness during Jerry’s time with them was truly remarkable.

The family will hold a private celebration of his life and interment committal this spring.
