Hazel (nee Kressin) Werblow

Hazel Werblow, of Juneau, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025.

She was born on May 15, 1933, in Clyman township, Wisconsin to Wilbur and Edna (Greinert) Kressin. Hazel was confirmed on March 30, 1947 with the bible verse of “Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.” Prov. 4:23 and graduated from grade school in 1947 and from Juneau High School in 1951. She married Harlan Werblow at Zion Lutheran Church in Clyman, WI on Dec. 2, 1951 and spent 72 wonderful years together until his passing in 2024.

Hazel was a long-time member of St. John’s in Juneau. She served on the altar committee for 50 years, was a charter member of the Juneau Firemen’s Aux., and a member of Dodge Centre Historical Society. She worked at Weyco Group for 28 years.  She had a passion for quilting and crafting special items for her family and friends. Gardening, particularly caring for her flower beds, brought her immense joy, and she spent countless hours nurturing her blooms. Hazel was proud to have been featured in the Juneau Garden Walk. Additionally, she delighted in decorating her home to celebrate the changing seasons throughout the year.

Hazel is survived by her children, Sherry (Randy) and Dennis (Cheryl), her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Chris, Cathy, Tracie (Eric), Ryan (Jacki), and Brett (Krystle), Alyssa, Myles, Beckett, and Lucy. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends. She is preceded by her parents, husband Harlan, and other relatives.

Funeral Service for Hazel will be held Sunday January 26, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, 400 S. Main Street, Juneau, WI 53089. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Sunday from 12:00 p.m.- 12:45 p.m. Immediately following service, interment in Juneau City Church Cemetery, Juneau, WI.
