James H Edwards

James Howard Edwards, age 74, of Jackson, WI, quietly passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.

Jim was born on May 31, 1951, in West Bend, to the late Hubert and Lois (Gruendemann) Edwards.  He graduated from “the old” West Bend High School in 1970.  On July 5, 1975, he was united in marriage to Karen Ponath at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in West Bend.

He worked for many years at a brake shoe factory that had changed ownership a few times, starting with Pick Automotive, becoming Standard Motor, then EIS Division of Parker Hannifin, before ending with Praefke Brake.  He retired for health reasons from Surak Electric Motor.

He enjoyed crocheting, camping and hunting, but mostly, for Jim, there were two seasons in the year…deer season and the rest of the year!  

Jim is survived by his wife, three children: Jennifer Edwards of West Bend, Timothy (Kelly) Edwards of Brentwood, CA, Jamison Edwards (Gina Hedges) of Jackson; four grandchildren: Carly (Craig) Doede, Megan Villmow (fiance Klinton Stoffel), Katrina Edwards, William Edwards; five great-grandchildren: Jazlyn, Kendall, Davis, Carter, Berkley; one sister: Janet Fick, special friends Mary and Andy Moehr, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Paulette and Gerald Smith; brothers-in-law Glenn Fick, Sr and Lavern Ponath, and two sisters-in-law Gloria Fry and Janice Bergin.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, N168 W20152 Main St., Jackson, WI  53037, with Pastor Chuck Turbin officiating.  Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Refreshments and fellowship to follow.
