Jean Carol (Rau) Doerfert

Jean Carol Doerfert, of Hustisford passed away, Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the age of 77 years. She was born on July 14, 1941, in Port Washington, WI to Oscar and Lorraine (nee Siebert) Rau in the Town of Saukville.  She was baptized on July 27, 1941, at St. John’s in Newburg.  She attended Lakeview School in Saukville and St John’s Lutheran School in Newburg.  She was confirmed on May 15, 1955.  She attended Port Washington High School.  On October 18, 1958, she married Lawrence Doerfert at St. John’s Church, Newburg.  They farmed near Woodland until 2005 when they moved to Hustisford.  Jean battled breast cancer since 1999.  She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Woodland.  Jean enjoyed her family, farming, gardening, traveling, playing cards, her many friends and the Golden Youth Club of Iron Ridge.

Jean is survived by husband Lawrence; children David (Jill) Doerfert of Wolfforth, TX, Barbara (Curt) Schellinger of Iron Ridge, WI, Dennis (Gigi) Doerfert of Hustisford, WI,  Deborah Doerfert of Casa Grande, AZ; grandchildren Scott Schellinger, Michael, Gia and Danielle Doerfert; brothers Roy Rau of Saukville, Glen (Sandy) Rau of Newburg and Alan (Marsha) Rau of Jacksonville, FL as well as many other relatives and friends.

Jean was preceded in death by infant son Daniel; her parents and parents-in-law Felix and Alma Doerfert; sister Karen; brothers-in-law Raymond (Deloris) Doerfert, and Willard (Anna Mae) Doerfert, and sister-in-law Bernice (Frank) Wiedmeyer.

Visitation is Saturday, June 22, 2019 at St. John’s Ev Lutheran Church in Wood land from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Funeral Service will follow at church at 1:30 p.m. Rev. James Castillo will officiate. Interment St. John’s Cemetery, Woodland.

Memorials to St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Woodland would be appreciated.
