Jeffrey Bartlett Obituary

Jeffrey Bartlett, age 67, went home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Jeff was born to his loving parents, James and Hertha on August 4, 1957. Jeff had a happy childhood growing up with his five brothers and three sisters in the countryside of Mequon. Although they lived humbly, their small home was filled with large amounts of love and Christian values. Hertha’s parent’s homestead/farm was located behind their home where they spent a lot of time helping Uncle Werner with farm chores. Summer was filled with every other weekend trips to their cottage in Minocqua enjoying family times of swimming, boat rides, and fishing.    Jeff attended grade school at Trinity Lutheran School of Freistadt, where his mother went to grade school. Jeff graduated from Homestead High School and followed his dad’s footsteps and worked at Briggs and Stratton in Waukesha for 30 years in machine maintenance. After his retirement there, he worked at John Deere in Horicon in the tool crib.   In August 1990, Jeff became the loving husband to Patty. Jeff was already the proud father of Molly, Anna, and Jeff Jr. When Jeff and Patty married, they had two children, Joy and Nathan, to also love and cherish. Jeff was an active father. He was always outside with his children enjoying nature, teaching them to fish, and playing sports. Especially important was his role as spiritual leader of the home, teaching Christian values and Biblical truths. Spending time with family and friends was very important to Jeff. Jeff was so friendly and wanted everyone he met to feel loved and valued. In retirement, Jeff was Nathan’s weekly fishing and disc golf buddy. Jeff enjoyed many amazing, memorable trips with Patty and Nathan and wonderful ministry opportunities together. Jeff was a faithful man of God whose mission was to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ and preach the Gospel. He loved to pass out Christian tracts and give people the Gospel of John wherever he went. He was a very active member of Faith Bible Alliance Church as a Worship leader, usher, and other ministries through the years. He was also actively involved with the Hope Center in Clyman.

Jeff is survived by and will be deeply missed by the love of his life and best friend, Patty, and his siblings Jim Bartlett (El), Debbie Streff (Pat), Chris Wehse (Doug), Kevin Bartlett (Pam), Keith Bartlett (Elena), and Kurt Bartlett (Terri). He will be further missed by his adoring children Molly Chamberlain (Jeremy), Anna Bartlett, Jeff Bartlett, Joy Oechsner (Brook), and Nathan Bartlett and his grandchildren Ava, Emmett, Cyrus, Olivia, Audrey, Jace, and baby girl Oechsner on the way. He is further survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Hertha, mother-in-law Eleanor Murphy, daughter, Clara, sister Angie (Dave) Johnson, and brother Mike Bartlett.

Special thanks to Rainbow Hospice and especially, nurse Molly, in Jeff’s final months and the loving help given.

Jeff would want you to keep reaching out to others with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

“Well done, good and faithful servant…”
