Joan R. Lemke, of Juneau, Wi. passed away January 27th, 2025. She was born September 11, 1947, daughter of Alvin and Mabel (Timmers) Lemke in Appleton, WI. She was raised on a dairy farm in Kaukauna, WI. She graduated from Freedom High School in 1965. She received a Bachelor’s degree from UW-Stevens Point and a Masters degree from UW- Eau Claire. She furthered her education with numerous classes in computer education.
She was employed as a Business Education teacher at Dodgeland High School from 1969 until her retirement in 2008. During that time, she served as Business Education Department Chairperson, Technology Director, chairperson of the Technology Committee, was the newspaper advisor, served on Dollars for Scholars, and was scorekeeper for numerous athletic events.
Joan was an active Juneau Jaycettes and a member of the Juneau Lioness Club. She enjoyed watching the Brewers, Packers, Badgers, and the Dodgeland Trojans. She also loved playing cards and board games with fellow retirees and attending monthly socials with Dodgeland retirees.
Joan is survived by her brother James (Lois) Lemke, nieces and nephews Alicia Lemke, Mark (Abby) Lemke, Wendy (Jeff) Rodeffer, Eric (Jennifer) Lemke and much-loved great-nephews and nieces – Charlie and Carter Coons, Annabel and Henry Lemke, Nyah and Riley Rodeffer, Jesse and Kaitlyn Lemke. She is further survived by very dear and special friends.
Family and friends may pay final respect Friday, Feb. 7th, from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 950 Washington St., Horicon, WI. followed by Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. Lunch will be served at the Church Hall immediately following the service. Private Interment.
