Laurie Fries, age 70, of Cedarburg, Wisconsin passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025.
She was born in Gary, Indiana on July 5, 1954 to the late Albert B. and Mary (nee McCullough) Siecker, who preceded her in death.
Laurie retired after 35+ years of service at Wisconsin Lift Truck and loved living the “retired life”. She enjoyed the amazing view out her kitchen windows, where she’d watch the wildlife, often naming the common visitors.
Laurie made friends everywhere she went and would remember the small details that people shared with her. She cared about what you cared about. Her thoughtfulness, compassion for others and generosity knew no bounds. She loved her friends and family deeply and cherished time spent together.
She is survived by her adoring husband of 42 years, Jeff, her loving son Tom (Tina) Fries, and her beloved grandchildren David, Megan, and Julia, by whom she was referred to as “White Grandma”, a title she held dear. She is also survived by her brother Abby (Barbara) Siecker, sisters-in-law Beverly Siecker and Paula Siecker, extended family, and too many friends to count.
Laurie is preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Catherine (late Jim) Nowaczyk, brothers Bruce and Scott Siecker, niece Kelly Siecker, and brother-in-law Stephen Fries.
Over the years, Laurie asked that the family forgo a traditional service, and instead celebrate her life at her favorite Friday night hangout spot. Family and friends are invited to share stories, laughs, and memorable moments honoring Laurie at C. Wieslers W61 N493 Washington Avenue, Cedarburg, WI 53012 on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 12pm-3pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you offer a donation to someone less fortunate than you, in Laurie’s honor.
