Michael Timothy Murphy of Bartow, FL, formerly of Hustisford, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday,
October 7, 2023, at the age of 79 years. He was born on 12/22/43 the son of Timothy and Helen Murphy
Mike graduated from Plymouth High School in 1962 and began his career in both the military and the
criminal justice system. He served his country in The United States Marine Corps (Semper Fi) in the
Vietnam War and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 in the United States Army in 2003. He retired from
The Wisconsin Department of Corrections as a Captain in 2008.
Mike was a passionate corvette owner. He enjoyed spending Sundays at car shows where he
appreciated all models of cars. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family and sharing his
life stories. He will forever be remembered for his enduring faith and for his participation in his church
and community. He was a great inspiration and role model for his children and grandchildren.
Mike is survived by his wife, Maureen (Mo) Murphy, three daughters, Lisa Murphy, Mary Vezzetti (Ron)
and Michelle Kaltenberg (Chad), granddaughter, Payton Murphy (Austin), grandsons, Anthony and
Dominic Vezzetti and Alex and Quinn Albrecht, great granddaughter, Grace Visser, his sister Margaret
(Peg) Schiek (Jim), stepdaughter Laura Schaap (Mark) and stepson, Rick (Leah) Schuler and their children
and grandchild. Mike is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Faith Murphy, sister Patricia (Pat)
Serketich, brother-in-law, Paul Serketich and many other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 20th, 2023 at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home-Hartford, 226 S. Main St. Family will receive family and friends Friday, Oct. 20th from 3:00 p.m. until time of the service.
