Patricia McQuaid Obituary

Patricia Sharon McQuaid, born August 31, 1929.  Died January 11, 2023 at the age of 93 years.

She was the daughter of Peggy (Schneider) and Joseph McQuaid.  Patricia spent her entire career as a cost accountant, which she dearly loved.  She was a trailblazer for women in accounting, as she worked her way up in a “man’s profession” to the senior member of a cost accounting group for many years for a metal foundry in Milwaukee.  Her life revolved around reading, and she could immerse herself in books for days on end, not even thinking about eating or speaking to anyone.  She was also passionate about travel, and took many trips around the world long before it became fashionable to go to places like Asia and Egypt.  Patricia also loved old movies, and amassed a large collection of them.  She would watch them over and over, and as she watched any of her collection, mouthed the dialogue to the entire film, with a huge smile on her face.

While not having any children of her own, Patricia was the loving aunt of Robert Neidinger of Cleveland, Ohio and James Neidinger of Chicago, Illinois.  Great aunt of William Neidinger of Cleveland, Ohio and James Neidinger of Dallas, Texas.  Dear lifelong friend of Marjorie Hudson of Milwaukee, who was her frequent traveling companion, as well as Marjorie’s daughter Terry.  Patricia was also grateful for the many years of friendship and help from Patricia Kiefer and her staff in Brookfield, who so wisely managed her investments, and was a dear friend.

Preceded in death by her parents, Peggy and Joseph McQuaid and her sister and brothers, Sally Neidinger (Robert) of Naperville, Illinois, James McQuaid, Thomas McQuaid and Dennis McQuaid, all of the Milwaukee area.

Arrangements are private, and Patricia’s final resting place will be next to her beloved brother Jim in the Library of the Family Center at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
