Rachel A. Rasmussen

Rachel A. Rasmussen, age 59, of Hartford, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026, at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice, surrounded by comfort and care.

Rachel was a loving mother and grandmother whose family held a special place in her heart. She is survived by her children, Emily (Bill) Zubella; Maxwell (Sarah) Rasmussen-Stahnke; and Payten Ketelhut; her beloved grandchildren, Stella Zubella and Carson Stahnke; and her special friend, Rick Ketelhut. She is also survived by many siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory.

Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Rasmussen (nee Wiesner) and Peter (Mary) Rasmussen.

Rachel had a deep passion for horticulture and found joy in the beauty of flowers, plants, and the outdoors. She shared that passion through her work at Black's Nursery and Erin Hills Golf Course, where she took great pride in helping care for the beautiful grounds. One of her proudest accomplishments was being part of the Erin Hills team during the U.S. Open.
In her younger years, Rachel was a talented equestrian rider and developed a lasting love for horses. Her connection with animals and nature remained an important part of who she was throughout her life.

Rachel will be remembered for her love of her children and grandchildren, her passion for gardening and horticulture, her love of animals, and the many special memories she created throughout her life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Her family is grateful for the care and compassion provided to Rachel during her final days and for the kindness shown to her and her loved ones.

Family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 10:30a.m.-12:00p.m., at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, 226 South Main Street, Hartford, Wisconsin 53027. Memorial service honoring Rachel’s life will follow at 12:00 p.m.
