Vida Laura (Mertz) Stueber

Vida Laura Stueber, (nee Mertz,) passed away June 2, 2024, at the age of 92, in Fond Du Lac, WI.  She was born October 19, 1931, daughter of William and Elizabeth (nee Gernetzke) Mertz, in Hustisford, WI.  On April 7, 1951, she married Clarence Leonard Stueber.

Vida enjoyed cooking, gardening and watching those Packer games! She always had a dog for a companion.  She loved watching and listening to Elvis Presley. Vida considered being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother as her greatest accomplishments in her life.

Vida is survived by her son, Jeffrey Allen Stueber, her daughter Beverly (William) Lenz, and daughter-in- law, Jane Stueber, her grandchildren, Elizabeth Bokelman, Jennifer Kippert and Kelly (Matt) Kregal, Brian (Ivy) Lenz, Michael Lenz, Debra Lenz and special friend Vicki Lamond, Ben (Sara) Stueber, and Josh (Ayla) Stueber.  Also, survived by ten great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence L. Stueber in 1988, her son Douglas in 2014, her parents, six sisters, and four brothers. 

A Visitation will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 1-2 p.m. at St. Peter’s EV., Lutheran Church, 1600 S. Main St., Fond du lac, Wisconsin. The Funeral Service will follow at 2 p.m. Rev. Peter Lindemann will be officiating.  A private family committal will be held at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Clyman, WI
