Warren B. Scheunemann

Warren Scheunemann passed away Friday, April 24, 2026, at the age of 90 years. He was born the son of Elmer and Gertrude (nee Nicolaus) on September 24, 1935, in Jackson, Wisconsin. He met and married Roswitha Perner in Ehrang, Germany on April 1, 1960.

Warren enjoyed telling stories and jokes and talking politics. He was a Sunday school superintendent for 20 years at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jackson as well as president of the congregation for 8 years. He served 3 years in the Army Engineer Corp. and was stationed in Germany. He was a union representative for 30+ years for the IAM and was proud of the 45 years he worked for Mercury Marine.

Warren is survived by his children Randy (Ruth) Scheunemann, Bryan (Laura) Scheunemann, Michele Schommer (nee Scheunemann), and Chris (Alice) Scheunemann, grandchildren Kari (Dave) Sizemore, Erin (Ethan) Coates, Samantha (Brett) McGinnis, Danielle (Jake) Stauffacher, Alexander (Brittany) Schommer, Nicholas Schommer, Tyler (Tessa) Schommer and his great grandchildren Maddie Sizemore, Charlotte Schommer and Selah McInnis. He is further survived by his sister Marita Hensel, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Warren was preceded in death by his father and mother, Elmer and Gertrude Scheunemann and his sister Janice Phillipson.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 2881 Division Road Jackson, Wisconsin 53027, with Rev. Paul Mittermaier officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 12:00 p.m.-1:45 p.m.

Immediately following service, interment in St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John’s Lutheran Church are appreciated.

The Scheunemann Family would like to thank the nurses at Horizon Home Hospice, Commonheart Hospice, and Cedar Community for their help and care of their dad. Also, thank you Bill, who visited weekly to read and talk with Warren. He really enjoyed your visits. Special thanks to Pastor Paul for all of his visits and continued support through everything.
