Dear Claude, Kristine and Kathleen,
I cannot find the words to console you at this sudden loss of your adoring husband & amazing father. I am heartbroken for you. I only hope to encourage you by sharing how his joy, love, and infectious smile, his whole way of living, filled my childhood with life!
"Billy Germer" wasn't just a person my folks visited, but knowing we were going over to the point, meant an exceptional opportunity for adventure with a great man, a kind & generous giant of patience with an impish sparkle of rebellion, that flashed out of that good heart, through his twinkling eyes!
I always was received with love & knew I was in for "life" when I arrived on the farm. Few kids ever got that kind of freedom, joy & adventure in their childhood, & Billy made mine extraordinary!
Even as an adult, I always marvelled at how, in the few minutes of my brief visits, he could capture my imagination & bring me back to those moments as a boy again, like a Sinissippi Peter Pan!
A painter is known by his handiwork, & I can say I saw the joy & laughter of Jesus, by how He created such a beautiful man that is, and shall forever be, our Billy Germer.
My prayers are for God to bring peace & hope for you through your pain, and joy in the mornings to come.
With all my love,
Russ Buss.... "Rusty" to Billy!

Dear Claudine and family,
We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Bill. We have great memories of all the many ways we connected with you and Bill before our short boat trip to the island. The two of you always welcomed us in around your kitchen table and took the time to chat with us to catch up on island news. We can't imagine what you and the family members must be going through at this difficult time. Please know you are in our special thoughts and prayers

Dear Claudine and family,
We were sad to hear the news of Bill's passing to Hevens gate, but know that he is looking down at us on the lake he loved so much. He was truly a people's person, always happy always hugging and loving. He was so proud of his family, his museum, the honeymoon shack at the island tip. He shared so many stories and was truly knowledgeable of all things happening around Hustisford. We loved his golf cart excursions with truly enjoyable conversations. We will continue to keep in touch with you Claudine and know that it was truly a blessing that Kathy moved so close to you both. You and your family are in our prayers and we will think of Bills's historical stories often. Thank you for being a part of our lives for the last 20 years, we are blessed also for knowing Bill and you.
