Elton Vilas Marohl, 97 of Juneau passed away October 17, 2016 at Charleston House Memory Care in Beaver Dam. He was born November 3, 1918 in the Town of Burnett, the son of Edwin and Della (nee Franke) Marohl. On August 25, 1945 he married Doris A. Klug at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau. He attended the Zion Lutheran Parochial School in Burnett and graduated from Burnett State Grade School. He worked as a farm hand on the family farm and local area farms in his early years. He was an employee of Dodge County Highway Dept. for 35 years retiring in 1980. Elton also repaired bicycles for 50 years, donating many to Bethesda and local charities. He enjoyed playing his piano accordion, fishing, trapping, cycling, polka dancing and the trips he and Doris took with area bands.
Elton is survived by his three loving children, Kenneth (Karen) Marohl of Grand Island, Nebraska, Doreen (Joe) Zuravle of Tarpon Springs, Florida, Robert (Patsy) Marohl of Beaver Dam, 5 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Elton was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Doris in 2002, his brother Eugene Marohl of Leonardtown, Maryland, and grandson Patrick Marohl.
Visitation is Saturday, October 22, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church Juneau. Funeral service will follow at noon at the church. Rev. Paul Schupmann will officiate. Interment Highland Memory Gardens, Town of Trenton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
